Corral West becomes Boot Barm

Corral West becomes Boot Barn

ELKO - Worry not, Western wear wearers - several Corral West stores in Nevada were purchased by Boot Barn, sparing the retailers from closure.

Stores in Elko, Laughlin and Winnemucca now operate as Boot Barn, touted as the largest retailer of Western boots, clothes and accessories in the country.

The stores are not part of Corral West's bankruptcy and are not liquidating merchandise. However, Elko store manager Debra Spieth said there are storewide sales to make room for new merchandise.

Boot Barn offers “the same kind of great stuff, just more of it,” spokesperson Anna Allega said.

Because of Corral West's financial woes, the Elko store did not receive new merchandise for some time, but new shipments are now arriving daily, Spieth said.

As the store transitions to Boot Barn it will not close, Allega said, but a grand opening will be held sometime in 2009.

“This is an exciting time for Boot Barn. We are thrilled to be a part of these communities and are committed to offering the best value and selection in Western wear,” said Boot Barn CEO Patrick Meany in a statement.

“We are proud of the outstanding products, low prices and knowledgeable staff in these stores and look forward to impressing Nevada families this holiday season and long after.”

All employees at the acquired Corral West stores have been retained.
